Who is the twelfth studio album by the English rock band the Who, released on 6 December 2019. In January 2019, The Who confirmed that they were working on their first album of new material in 13 years since their 2006 studio album Endless Wire, which would contain dark ballads, heavy rock stuff, experimental electronica, sampled stuff and Who-ish tunes that began with a guitar that goes yanga-dang, as Townshend stated. As with previous Who albums, vocalist Roger Daltrey and guitarist Pete. The first Who album in 13 years opens with a perfectly cynical Pete Townshend lyric: I dont careI know youre gonna hate this song. But its kind of hard to hate something that feels so familiar. Roger Daltrey sings the lyric and the ones that follow, claiming the song isnt new or diverse, with the same anger and conviction as the Whos earliest music, recorded more than half a century ago, and the melody is almost identical to the opening I dont mind of the bands 1966 single The Kids Are Alright. He even takes it a step farther, later in the song, singing, I dont mindOther g. On the Who's first album in 13 years, Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend sound invigorated, even in songs that address 70-something concerns. If a Dylan or Leonard Cohen approaches these topics, the mood is somber, but the Who have attempted something trickier, with a set of mostly hard-rocking songs that make them sound not a day over 30, addressing lyrical concerns that arent a day under 60. Its a chemistry experiment in which intimations of mortality and a half-rueful, half-eff-you attitude have been put into a Bunsen burner with Petes old-school windmill chords and Rogs undiminished, wonderfully blustery, occasionally tender belting. The feisty opener, All This Music Must Fade, could be retitled OK Millennial, with Towns. Butius
this is a beautiful european bootleg reissue of a bootleg that was originally released in italy back in 2007, this one that was released back in 2013 has a more attractive sleeve, the sleeve is laminated and the record rather thick, these studio tracks are some of the bit more obscure studio tracks the who recorded between late 1964 through 1968, the mixes on some of these tracks are very unique and honestly for decades i have LOVED all these very vintage who gems, great boot w/ a beautiful mod 65 shot of the guys on brighton beach, i have a bbc vol 1 boot w/ this same sleeve and photo shot, you just cant beat this glossy shot on the sleeve, the back of the sleeve has the track listing as well as the classic live shot from 1965 at the richmond jazz festival in the uk..................
