How I Learned to Love the Bootboys is the fourth and final album by British alternative rock band The Auteurs. All songs written by Luke Haines, except where noted. Original CDLP CDHUT53HUTLP53. The Rubettes Luke Haines, John Moore, Bickerton, Waddington - 3:27. How I Learned to Love the Bootboys - 3:05. The Auteurs. Rock 1999. The Rubettes. Inspired by Pulp. The Auteurs Essentials. Albums You May Also Like. While each of the Auteurs' three prior LPs are equally arresting, there are points at which the mind tends to wander, but not here. Haines' familiar themes of Englishness, youth, and hooliganism remain, playing like another short movie. The cohesiveness of the record is no small feat, given the wide-ranging sounds and moods. Opening bedroom tale The Rubettes features a delicate, Brill Building lullaby chorus while a repetitive staccato riff offplays the fragility. Title track from the 1999 album of the same name. The final Auteurs fourth and ultimately final album, How I Learned To Love The Bootboys was re-released last month. Part of the second batch of Auteurs reissues put together by 3Loop Music, Bootboys is the bands lost album. As Luke Haines states in the liner notes it was their least successful effort commercially and critically and was recorded over a period of one year and half while Hainess other project Black Box Recorder was gathering momentum. Despite its rather convoluted gestation, the album is remarkably consistent. The Auteurs 01-01-1999. Celková doba trvání:35 min. How I Learned To Love The Bootboys.
