Here on the 15 track, Common Purpose cd we get Ravitz in all of his different forms as he teams up with numerous artists from his local Brooklyn scene and beyond, serving up unheard cuts from numerous recording sessions done over the last years. Through the record we hear the producer's versatility from tripped out downtempo vibes, to mid-paced acid, to high bpm dust burners, as Ravitz and Co. explore almost all possible avenues while in the studio. Collaborators include Huerco S. Jahiliyya Fields, NGLY, Terekke, Bookworms, Cloudface, and Josephine. On Purpose is the twelfth studio album by American country music artist Clint Black. It was released on September 25, 2015 via Thirty Tigers and Black Top Records. Black wrote all of the album's fourteen tracks. The album was produced by Black. Clint Black - lead vocals. As with his work as Patricia, Ravitz doesn't just build tracks out of arching layers over a steady beat in DJ-friendly fashion, nor does he diversify merely with ambient pieces très chic on your average 12 these days, but also throws in subtly complex tracks that vary rhythmic structures and throw in key changes and even some vocals in. Rav, short for Max Ravitz, is best known for his releases as Patricia. Under that name he's issued a couple of well-received albums on Opal Tapes, including last year's Bem Inventory. The new one has Ravitz working with a raft of collaborators including Cloudface D. Reynolds, Bookworms N. Dawson, Huerco S B. Leeds, Jahiliyya Fields M. Common Purpose distills all youve heard from him in various configurations, solo and duo, over the past few years as Inhalants, Masks, Black Mold, into a dusty yet oily suite of muggy downbeats, knackered house and grim ginnels of techno, house and acid, with the odd surprising turn towards darkwave pop. I agree, player. There is nothing flashy or spectacular about this album, but it made its way onto my phone 6 months ago and somehow still hasn't left. Remarkably cohesive considering the collaborations - and not merely for the (to my taste) occasionally tacky lo-fidelity revivalism. There is an understated elegance about the whole affair, with very carefully structured dynamics. At lower volumes half the album could be ambient dub techno, but turn up the amplitude and the other half is solid bangers. As with his work as Patricia, Ravitz doesn't just build tracks out of arching layers over a steady beat in DJ-friendly fashion, nor does he diversify merely with ambient pieces (très chic on your average 12" these days), but also throws in subtly complex tracks that vary rhythmic structures and throw in key changes (and even some vocals) in to boot. More diverse and delicate than much of what L.I.E.S. releases these days, and more proof that Albums are still relevant in electronic music.

Written and produced by M.Rav*, who collaborates with several different artist across this album. A anti-commercial feel with a real sense of underground electronic music that seems to have been made from old dusty analogue equipment in a non hi-tec garage-studio. A edgy rawness can be felt in the music as if it was being made, played, & recorded live right in-front of you! The almost back 2 basics, minimalistic, & few equipment approach brings out those deep moody dystopian like atmospheres that play with a retro-modern sound bringing that grungy analogue feel to its combo of acid-house & techno-electro music which plays throughout the album. Fans of Drexciya/Lab Rat, The Railway Raver, the downtempo electro-techno side of Two Lone Swordsmen, James Zeiter (aka A Analog 1, J.S Zelter, MCMLXV).and also by the more recent music by artist Mictolith(RIp), and label, Central Processing Unit, will really dig this. Only released on masterglass CD (not Cdr) and digital is certainly worth investigating if have't already, & good luck finding it!

Does anyone know if this will be released on record too? Thanks.

I think the label said a while back that it's a CD-only release
