Bustin' Loose is a studio album released in 1979 by the Washington, go-go band Chuck Brown & the Soul Searchers. The album includes the charting single and one of the all-time classic go-go songs Bustin' Loose, along with a remake of the classic Jerry Butler's soul ballad Never Gonna Give You Up from the 1968 album The Ice Man Cometh. On August 10, 1979, Bustin' Loose was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America, for shipments of 500,000 copies in the United. Bustin' Loose Part 1 is a hit song for Chuck Brown & the Soul Searchers. Released from the album of the same name, it spent four weeks at the top of the R&B singles chart in early 1979 and peaked at number 34 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Bustin' Loose has been played after every home run the Washington Nationals hit at Nationals Park since that stadium's opening in 2008 until the present, with the exception of the 2015 and 2016 seasons, when the Jessie J song Bang Bang was played. I'm listening to this 12" right now and it sounds like at best it's a 2 dollar record. It has that "born clearance" sound to it. Corny rap with limp production using a replayed synthline from Madonna "Holiday". Negative 5 stars.
