24 Carrots is the ninth studio album by Al Stewart, released in 1980. This was Stewart's first album with his new band Shot in the Dark. Tracks 1-4 are co-written with Peter White. The single Midnight Rocks reached the top 30 on the Billboard charts in 1980, reaching 24. Two other singles were released from the album: Mondo Sinistro and Paint By Numbers. The album has been re-released in 2007 with bonus tracks. 24 Carrots - Al Stewart. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. The pun of the title of 24 Carrots - the first overt signal of humor Al Stewart has displayed in years, possibly ever - illustrates that a lot has changed since 1978's Time Passages. The loosening of his wit is perhaps the most evident, but the most significant is the departure of producer Alan Parsons, who collaborated with Stewart on his mid-'70s triptych of masterpieces. In truth, 24 Carrots isn't far removed from those high points, because he is indeed still writing at a remarkably consistent pace. Help! I'm not totally sure my copy of this LP is the same as this "Santa Maria" version. I have added Variant 3 which has slightly different, ie. earlier pressing equipment marks eg. TML-M and TML-S (instead of the other variants which appear to use the later TML-X equipment). Does this mean my copy needs to be a new submission? (although this is the closest of all pressing versions currently listed on Discogs). Also, my labels use a different typeface ('font') for the name "Arista" along the side of the "A" logo. (see the image I've added). It is not the 'rounded chunky' Arista typeface (see images).
On reading https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arista_Records#Acquisitions,_sell-offs I think my copy of this LP is actually during this German (Ariola/BMG) owned era of Arista, which might explain how my seemingly US manufactured LP ended up in UK. I guess it is an UK & EU Ariola distribution?
