A24 until L'Aquila East; followed Popoli / Sulmona / Pescara until you get onto the SS17; left and continue for a few miles to the junction with the SS261; keep right on SS261 towards San Demetrio, Fontecchio. After 15 km you reach Fontecchio.
A25 motorway exit at Bussi; SS5 Tiburtina direction Peoples; After a mile, turn right for Aquila. Passed Tirino Valley you get to Navelli. After a few kilometers left to Caporciano, Bominaco and Opi. After Opi, left for Castle and, after 20 meters, immediately left towards Fontecchio; descend to the SS261; left and after one kilometer you enter in Fontecchio.
A1 to exit Cassino; here continue on the highway (SS82) for Sora and Avezzano; A25 motorway towards Rome to the junction with the A24 towards L'Aquila. Then as for those coming from Rome.
From Terni on SS79 and then go on to Rieti SS4 Salaria to Antrodoco; here left on SS17 to L'Aquila; then continue on the SS17. Then as for those coming from Rome.
A14 to Giulianova; slip road following signs for A24 (Rome-L'Aquila); you enter the A24 and exit at Eagle East. Then as for those coming from Rome.
A bus line - ARPA reaches Fontecchio with several daily. All races start at ARPA L'Aquila - Bus Terminal.
L'Aquila is reached by bus from Rome and Pescara Harp and also with the lines Baltour from other cities: Harp | Baltour
FS Terni - Rieti - Fontecchio - L'Aquila - Sulmona. A few trains stop at Fontecchio, but several nearby stations of San Demetrio and Fagnano-Campana or Beffi. Terni is also on the Ancona - Rome and is also accessible from Perugia with Umbrian Central Railways which also operate the stretch Terni - L'Aquila. Sulmona, from the opposite end, is on the Rome - Pescara and is also reached from the beautiful secondary line coming from Naples (today only tourist trains). If you travel with your bike on and for hiking, these stations are not far from Fontecchio.
